MISSION & EVANGELISM

We sincerely appreciate everyone who helped with Mission to Hanover on November 10.  Thanks to you, a local family will save money on energy costs with their winterized windows (all 14 of them!)  In addition, the team painted an oil tank, cleaned gutters, and raked leaves for a family.  What a great way to serve others in Jesus’ name!

MISSION OPPORTUNITIES IN HANOVER

Please consider volunteering to help out HANOVER’S WINTERIZATION PROGRAM.  Over the past 20 years, this program has helped hundreds of low-income, disabled and/or elderly county residents by installing plastic over windows, wrapping water pipes and weather-stripping doors.  The goal of the program is to ensure that every household has this minimal level of protection from the winter weather.  This program is made possible solely through financial contributions for supplies and the work of local volunteer “crews.”  If you are interested in volunteering, contributing funds for supplies or are in need of Winterization assistance, contact the Hanover Dept. of Com. Resources at 804-365-4302 or send an email to volunteer@co.hanover.va.us for more information.

Secure the Call is a program whereby used cell phones are collected, wiped clean and then redistributed to those who need a cell phone for the purpose of calling 911 in the event of an emergency.  Please consider donating your used phone and any battery, chargers or cords you may have for it.  A collection barrel has been placed in the hall across from the M&E bulletin board.
